Per-Deployment Licensing

The simplest way to license ThumbMaster is with a Per-Deployment license. Each license allows ThumbMaster to be deployed as part of a single installation of an application, whether web-based or desktop. For web applications, one license is required per application (i.e. WAR or EAR), regardless of the number of CPUs or cluster nodes to which it is deployed. If deployed as part of a desktop application, one license is required per installation of the desktop application.

Enterprise Licensing

If you wish to deploy multiple applications within a single organization, it may be cheaper to purchase an enterprise license instead. Each of these licenses allows for unlimited deployments of applications using ThumbMaster within a single organization. This includes deploying as many ThumbMaster-enabled web applications as desired, as well as unlimited distribution of desktop applications to users within that organization. Note that this license does not allow ThumbMaster to be distributed with desktop software to customers, clients, or other users external to the purchasing organization.

Development Licensing

An unlimited development license is provided to any organization that purchases a licensed copy of ThumbMaster. This allows ThumbMaster to be used in an unlimited fashion within the organization for the purposes of developing and testing ThumbMaster-enabled applications. Any software that is deployed for use outside of this scope must have a valid Per-Deployment or Enterprise license, as per the ThumbMaster licensing terms.

Open Source, Academic, and Personal Project Licensing

Devella is firmly committed to the continued health and growth of the free software community, as well as supporting future software engineers and hobbyists. If you wish to use ThumbMaster as part of an open source, academic, or non-commercial personal project, then we want to help! Free licenses are granted to such users on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to apply for one of these licenses, please contact us and describe your project and intended use of ThumbMaster.

Devella is willing to work with customers to find a licensing model that works for their needs. Please contact us if you require license terms that differ from any of the above options — for example, if you want to redistribute ThumbMaster as part of a desktop application you sell without paying a license fee for each copy.
